Corona Virus, Casinos & You

With the global COVID-19 virus pandemic, it is only normal to be concerned or feel anxious about it. We at BCSlots.com have been closely following the news from both local and federal government agencies, the CDC and FDA as well as local casinos. As much as it is easy to get carried away with how scary and serious the matter is, and it is serious, I’m here to try and put your minds at ease while ensuring your safety.

To best protect yourself at the casinos, take precautions and use hand sanitizer often. If you’re feeling under the weather, and that includes the ‘common cold’, stay at home. Children, elderly and those with underlying health issues are most at risk. When at a casino, as an extra provision, consider using sanitizing wipes for slot machines or the use a glove. Most importantly, be sure to not touch your face (eyes and mouth especially).

I personally was not aware the amount of times that I 1) touched my face, but 2) touched EVERYTHING with my hands! On my travels today alone, my bare hands touched 5 door handles, pushed a button in an elevator, handed my credit card to someone and got it back, used salt and pepper shakers, opened a car door handle, adjusted the airflow in an air craft, buckled my seat in a LYFT, and on and on. We can’t control what others around us do, but we can control what we do. And I have been using hand sanitizer non-stop and training my brain to know when I am touching things. Sounds crazy, but it’s true. Makes me wonder why I never thought of that before?

At the time of publishing this blog, our events are currently going on as scheduled with extra precautions taking place to ensure everyone’s safety. Until further notice, there will be no handshakes, hugs or physical contact at meet and greets, and Brian will be responsible for pushing the buttons on all slot machines at group pulls. We feel that these minor changes can have a major impact on ensuring everyone’s safety. We are of course in close contact with each casino we visit and adhering to their policies.

CALIFORNIA
According to The Press-Enterprise, “Officials from several Southern California’s casinos say they’re hearing those concerns and working diligently to protect both their employees and their visitors and to assure those individuals that they’re safe from COVID-19. They’ve been taking measures such as adding additional hand sanitizer stations, communicating about preventative measures to employees and following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and county guidelines.” link

Casinos are equipped with many new hand sanitizer stations, are cleaning more frequently and vigorously and are encouraging patrons who are feeling under the weather to stay home. For more statements from casinos, visit this page.

NEVADA
MGM properties were the first casinos to have announced that they are closing their buffets on a week by week basis. Aside from that, it is business as usual - alongside tremendous efforts to continue sanitizing everywhere to ensure the safety of all.

All in all, we are all in this together. You are not alone. Don't let fear take over. Use common sense, wash your hands and keep your hands to yourself....and the slot machines. If going to a casino sounds like too much for you right now, play at home on a free casino app, or online on a social casino. Better still, WATCH ME!! Lots of Live Streams coming up over the next week.

Take care of each other, Brian xoxo

The above is my opinion and my opinion only.
You are encouraged to listen to local and federal authorities for info and updates.
